Every hotkey I've seen so far has been rebindable, and the grid for hero hotkeys and items displays which hotkey it is bound to. The only thing I'm not a fan of is that you can't bind the key to anything. It's not that it wont let you, it just doesn't work when you use it since its reserved for console I guess. Basic Controls for playing Dota 2.
Unit Controls[edit]
Left Click allows unit selection. Clicking on a unit selects it and displays its information. If the unit is uncontrollable, attempting to issue a command will deselect it and reselect the last unit you had controlled.

Left Click + Drag creates a selection box. All of the player's controllable units within the box get selected.
Right Click commands selected units to the move to the targeted point. If Right Click is used on an enemy, the units will be commanded to attack that enemy. Right Click on an ally will simply command to follow that ally. If the Force Right-Click Attack option is enabled, it will command the selected unit to deny that ally if available.
Holding Shift while issuing commands will que the commands. In unit selection, Shift + Left Click on an allied unit will add it to your selection. Shift + Left Click on an already selected unit removes the unit from your selection.
The Ctrl key is used for several purposes. If Unified Unit Orders is enabled, Ctrl held down plus Left Click or Right Click will command all controllable units to follow that click's command regardless of your current selection. Holding Ctrl and the corresponding Hotkey will level up an ability if a skill point is available. Holding Ctrl can also be used on a few items to modify their targeting.
Shop Controls[edit]
Right Click on an item to purchase it. If the player does not have enough gold or is too far from a shop, the item will not be bought. If the item can be bought from the Home Shop, it will be bought and then go into the player's Stash at base.
Left Click on an item to display all related items. The items that make up its component parts are displayed underneath, while items that can be completed with it are displayed above.
Shift + Left Click on an item displays it in the Quickbuy area.
Inventory Controls[edit]
Right Click on an item to show the options drop-down menu for it.
Left Click on an item or press its Hotkey to use the item's active ability.
Left Click + Drag an item to move the item from the player's inventory and transfer it to the selected ally or place it the ground.
Left Click + Drag an item on a Shopkeeper to sell the item if within range of a shop.
Alt Controls[edit]
The Alt key can be used to quickly communicate information to team mates.
Alt + Left Click on the ground pings the map with a ! symbol. Alt + Left Click on an enemy unit centers the symbol around that unit. Alt + Left Click on an enemy building will also display a sword icon on the minimap. Alt + Left Click on an allied building will display a shield icon on the minimap.
Ctrl + Alt + Left Click does a warning ping with an X symbol instead.
Alt + Left Click on an enemy hero on the top bar sends a hero missing message.
Ctrl + Alt + Left Click on an enemy hero on the top bar sends a message that the hero has returned.
Alt + Left Click on a spell sends an On Cooldown/Not Enough Mana/Ready message depending on the spell's current status.
Alt + Left Click on an item in your inventory also sends an On Cooldown/Not Enough Mana/Ready message depending on the item's current status. A Gather Here message is displayed instead of Ready for Area of Effect items that are ready to use, and your location is also pinged.
Alt + Left Click on an item in the Shop Panel sends a message that you will buy that item.
Alt + Left Click on an item in the Quickbuy area sends a message saying how much gold is needed to complete the full item.
Alt + Left Click on an item that was dropped on the ground will send a message notifying your team.
Alt + Left Click on a Rune will send a message with that rune type.
Alt + Left Click on a Bottle will send a message of what Rune is stored in the bottle.

Alt + Left Click on the Glyph button sends a message with its Available/Cooldown status.
